Why is the underside of my lens blue?

That's the anti-reflective coating, which has a blue tint to it! One way to see it in work is to put your MagLocks under an overhead man-made light. Reflect that light on the front of the lens. Now, flip the sunglasses over and look at the back (blue) side. You'll notice that the light reflected in the lenses is not as bright as the front side. The reflection in the front (outside) image is seen much easier. While it doesn't completely eliminate reflection, this coating does is significantly reduce it and makes it clearer to see!
